ZKsync Recovers $5M in Stolen Tokens After Hacker Accepts Bounty
The zksync Association has reclaimed $5 million in stolen tokens following a security breach on April 15. The hacker, who exploited the airdrop distribution contract, agreed to a 10% bounty, returning 90% of the assets—nearly $5.7 million—to the ZKsync Security Council in three transactions on April 23.
Matter Labs, the protocol’s developer, confirmed no user funds were compromised. Blockchain data reveals the hacker transferred $2.47 million, though the full scope of the incident remains under scrutiny.
